How To Apply

Apply to join the Key Communities at CSU!

Access to the application can be found at www.key.lc.colostate.edu/keyapp.

The Key Communities are learning communities for first year, second year, and continuing students designed to honor the identities and strengths of each student to foster students transition to and through the University. The Key Communities are one of the most diverse communities on campus, with many of the students identifying as a student of color and/or first generation to college, who are committed to creating and nurturing inclusive environments that welcome, value and affirm the diverse identities of our students.

Before proceeding, all applicants are encouraged to review the Key Community cluster options at http://key.lc.colostate.edu/keycomm. Applicants will have the opportunity to apply for the Community they feel would be the best fit based on their interest areas and/or major. Applicants should also review the questions listed below, as well as the program requirements. The Key Communities have a competitive application process, and thoughtful responses will be used as one of the factors in determining a final acceptance status.

On the application, students will need to provide essay responses to the two questions listed below, as well as an additional question for the Community an applicant is applying for. Essay responses should equal about one paragraph each, which usually consists of between 150-300 words. Responses should be thoughtful, concise, and as concrete as possible, and will be one of the factors used by the selection committee to determine acceptance into a Community.
